A Sideways Cycle

 

In a Cycle Design competition held in Seoul this year by the Seoul Design Foundation, Michael Killian’s Sideways Cycle design won out of 3000 other entries.

The winner stated that the cycle was design to give the rider the enjoyable feel of a snow board ride.

The design looks a little weird, however that may just be because it is significantly different from any other cycle.

The cycle gadget is controlled by two steering handles that are attached to a wheel each, allowing for easy control. Just however make sure you’re not driving it straight, but in crab style.

The Pedestrian Alert System

 

With the rate of accidents increasing, one would think that the pedestrians are getting a little more cautious while crossing the road – but in fact they are just getting even more reckless. This makes driving my car – an activity I dread miserably.

The Pedestrian Alert system developed by Mobileye Products is designed to be able to give the driver a 2.7 second warning of a possible collision with a pedestrian. The device is called the C2-270 and is a two piece camera and alert system. The camera comes on the wind shield and can capture and analyse around 15 images in a second. The alert system is attached to the dashboard.

The product is not yet out, but is expected to be sold for $900.

The Shiny Whistle Flash Drive

 

The gadget is definitely not for everyone. One must have a love for shiny things and preferably be a coach or a referee to actually have a liking for it.

This shiny whistle with a football drawn at its side has a 4 GB pen drive stored inside it, thereby allowing you to store your files secretly.

Tracking your run

 

One has always been able to track someone running through a sensor in the shoe and an iPhone or iPad that can do the trick. However this latest gadget allows us to do away with the sensor.

With the Nike+ GPS app, the GPS device in your iPhone can now be used to follow the runner along the roads through a map, tracking his path, speed and timing. These can be recorded and you can compare it to your previous running timings and rhythm, as it can compare even sections of the race that are in progress.

If this doesn’t succeed in getting you out on the track with those shoes on, I don’t believe anything else will.
