Good news to all Playbook fans out there. During the recent Blackberry world conference, RIM has announced that they are adding Facebook and video chat app for their Playbook in May. This comes as a no surprise as the competition on the market with Android and Apple iPad is tight. They have predicted that these 2 apps will help to boost sales as well as keeping the loyal Playbook fans happy.
Nowadays, when we mention the words social network, it is almost instantaneous that we will think of Facebook. This new app will allow Blackberry Playbook users to keep track of news updates, handling friends’ requests as well as response to wall posts. Meanwhile, the video chat app will help Playbook to almost be at par on communication tools with the newest Apple iPad that comes with a front and rear camera.
So far, reviews regarding the video app have been positive and well received. It is said to produce clear and undisturbed video quality. However, there is one negative side to this app that is the inability to entirely switch off the video chat. This means the calls will keep coming in whether the application is running or not. You may be rudely interrupted at the most inconvenient time. There is a do not disturb setting in the app that will solve the above problem but this also means that you will have to run the app all the time.
