Nokia releases first Windows mobile phone in India

 

India’s popular handset maker Nokia unveiled its latest touch-and-type business smartphone, Nokia E7 for the Indian market. The Nokia E7 is the first Windows Mobile phone launched by the company. Last month Nokia and Microsoft had announced a deal in which Nokia will make smartphones only on the Windows platform and it will abandon other platforms such as Symbian and Android.

The new Nokia E7 has a slide out four-row QWERTY keyboard for an easy and comfortable typing. The Vice President and Managing Director of Nokia India, Mr. D Shivkumar told, “Consumers today seek a device that allows them to do a lot more, both in their personal and professional lives. Nokia E7 is an all-in-one business smartphone that offers a superior mobile office experience coupled with compelling entertainment options.” He also said, “We are confident that with Nokia E7, we will redefine the consumers’ expectations from the smartphones segment.”

The new Nokia E7 mobile phone comes with a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display and also supports embedded ClearBlack technology which helps in refining outdoor visibility. The handset is also equipped with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support which allows users to edit documents as they traverse from one place to another.
