The Karlsson Projection Clock is an innovation that is powered by mains. It projects the image of a clock to any flat surface using LED light. Besides, this magical gadget can project the image of a clock to a surface as far as 8 meters.

Other than that, there is a magical stand that comes with the product, allowing you to fix it on your desk or table. Unlike other projection clocks which functions only at night, the Karlson Projection Clock is visible even in daylight! This projection clock is energy-saving because of its low power consumption which requires only an AA-sized battery. It has a LED life span of up to 40,000 hours.

YikeBike Fusion Electric Folding Bike

YikeBike Fusion Electric Folding Bike

Folding electric bikes are not new. In fact, YikeBike has introduced them way back in 2009 but the carbon fibre model was a tad expensive at $3,795.

Now they have just added the YikeBike Fusion to their collection, a more affordable folding bike model with a price tag of $1,995.

So how did that become possible, you ask yourself.

Apparently, YikeBike substituted more affordable materials like reinforced polymer composite and alloy for some of the more expensive carbon fibre materials. But you have to pay the price for the cheaper version and that’s more than three kilograms in added weight.

Up to 250 carbon fibre bikes have been sold last year to various customers including celebrities like Jackie Chan.

Now comes the new toy for the big boys out there—a slightly heavier, but cheaper version of the folding bike.  Don’t expect the original carbon fibre folding bikes to go on sale though, because they will be reserved for those who can afford the high-end version which will be sold through the website of YikeBike.  The cheaper version will then be sold by distributors as a standard version.

The carbon fibre folding bike weighs only 10.8 kg while the Fusion version weighs 14 kg. If you want to leave as little carbon footprint as possible but just could not afford the hefty price tag of the original carbon fibre folding bag, then here’s your chance to get the cheaper version.

Well, 3kg is not much of a weight considering the savings you can get from the purchase of the Fusion. Anyway, you can still enjoy its 23 km per hour speed while protecting the environment.

4D Technology coming to Movie Theatres Soon

4D Capability coming to Movie Theatres Soon

Imagine yourself being able to shake, rattle and roll in your seat as you watch the Science Fiction thriller “Super 8” produced by Steven Spielberg. However, you can only do all that when you’re watching the movie in one of the 50 theatres in America that have been outfitted with the D-Box Motion Code seats.

The technology is responsible for the motion effects that will allow you to feel the movements as your chair moves up, down and sideways, depending on the movie scene that you are watching.  “The content of this new picture is an ideal match for our incredibly realistic motion effects,” a statement by D-Box Technologies CEO Claude McMaster read.

If you’ve been to the Universal Studios theme park then you might have already experienced the body and mind-boggling fourth dimension added to your viewing pleasure which includes water splashes and air blows. The theatres are fast catching up with the technology and before you know it, theatres the world over would be equipped with seats containing the D-Box technology that will make you shake and rumble just like the characters on the screen.

You will realize the dedication that comes with every movie associated with the D-Box technology when you learn that the engineers have to go through all the scenes and frames in the movie to synchronize the D-Box experience all the way.

But here’s more good news. Even your home theatre can be equipped with the 4D or D-Box technology through the hardware and software solution called “Motion Code” which will be installed under the seats.

But while your home cinema may have cost you only $20,000, the additional 4D technology may be more expensive. But for those who can afford life’s perks and money is not an issue great. For the rest of us, I guess we will have to experience it at 4D at the theatre.

Read Braille with the Snail

Read Braille with the Snail

Have you ever tried to translate Braille on a page into readable words and phrases? I have and failed miserably at it, therefore I have a lot of respect for people who have had to learn in order just to read a book. Having run my finger along Braille before and not being able to make any sense of it whatsoever I find the gadget we bring to you today an important one for other people who may be experiencing difficulty learning it.

Read Braille with the Snail

Today we bring to you a concept by designer Wonkook Lee called the Snail. The Snail is a Braille Reader that is drawn across the page; from this text can be converted into words and played back to the user via a Bluetooth headset.  Specifically, the Snail is an electronic voice converter, with a pressure sensitive touch pad that can pick up the Braille’s uneven surface of the page.

This visually impaired product has distinct advantages over traditional Braille reading in that:

- Specific Braille points can be set. When reading in Braille if you forget a certain part of the story trying to find where that point is in the book is difficult; however with the Snail Braille device it is very easy.

- Its quicker, no need to think about what each Braille point is just roll the Snail across the page and let it determine what the sentence says.

-  No training or learning before use required, just follow the instructions and away you go.
