Working whilst travelling has is a common scene these days with the availability of mobile devices such as mobile phones, PDA’s, and laptops. However, with this increase in work there is a requirement for mobile data storage systems which offer a secure way of backing up data. Lenovo have addressed this concern by releasing the Thinkpad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive.

The Thinkpad USB Portable Secure Hard drives which come with either 160GB or 320GB storage space. Data is stored securely on a compact 3″ x 5″ device which can easily be transported in shirt or jacket pocket.  Data can be written in real time and is encrypted with 128-bit AES. Located on the hard drive itself is a keypad which a user must enter the correct code before the data contained on it can be accessed.

Hand Grenade Mouse

Well, I’m quite an intensive computer user and go through more than my fair share of computer mouses, actually at the last count I’m up to my fourth one for the year.  Based on my poor record of breaking those this little Hand Grenade Mouse caught my eye as being something that may be a little more robust.

Manufactured as a mod, this little mouse gadget must be the ultimate gamers mouse especially for those playing war of attrition online games. Not a lot is known about the mouse itself except it is actually crafted from an old grenade casing (don’t worry though the pin is still in). Looking cool is all well and good but I can imagine the mouse not being the most comfortable of products to use. So weighing all that up would you rather have a mouse that looked good or felt good, what do you think?

Lenovo Shows Off X200 Touch screen Tablet

Are you tired of charging your laptops again and again? Lenovo has brought the solution to this problem. Normally, battery of many laptops lasts for 4 to 5 hours. Lenovo is launching the laptop with 10 hours battery life. Lenovo has publicized X200 touch screen tablet with incredible features. It persists of 12.1 inch swivel touch screen, a core 2 duo processor and 4 GB ram.

In battery X200 tablet provides two alternatives a 4- Cell battery and 8- Cell battery.

4 Cell batteries last for 4.2 hours where as 8 Cell battery lasts for 10 hours. It also includes 128 GB solid state drive and a finger print reader. Price of tablet has not been declared.

Toshiba’s latest netbook

Toshiba had finally shown its existence by appearing in net book group. Toshiba satellite NB100 has finally declared his net book in UK on this Thursday. It provides you with excellent features:

• 120 GB hard disc
• 1 GB ram
• 1.6 Hz Intel atom processor
• 8.9 inch screen

The Toshiba NB100 is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, and comesw with a choice of two operating systems; Linux Ubuntu 8.04 with Open Office 2.4 or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
It endows with Ethernet that is local area connection, USG, VGA, and an audio jack. Toshiba has entered late but it has made powerful entry by providing excellent features. Toshiba can give best competition to Samsung, dell, Fujitsu Siemens. It will hit UK market in October with the rate of $469 USD.

Mini notebook is back!

AMILO, also called as Mini notebook is the newly introduced laptop of the company, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. The size of the laptop is 23.0*17.5 cm and has Intel Atom N270 processor supplies a small power house. The life of the battery is also compatible. It has four hours working life. The removable clip-on covers make it different from other laptops.

With the help of that you can easily change the manifestation whenever and wherever you want. Microsoft and windows are already equipped. Hard disk has the 60GB to 80GB memory which can further extend to 120GB. You will get four in one card reader to copy images from the digital cameras.

HP 24 hr battery laptops

EliteBook 6930p is the recently launched product of HP which features an increased battery duration of a laptop. It claims to be able to work constantly for 24 hours with the help of just a single fully charged battery. There is no need to put in the extra efforts of charging the battery through solar energy or by any other random means. So what can you do with this extra battery life? Well just for arguments sake you could take more than 10 trips on the EuroStar train between London and Paris before recharging the battery is required.

The product helps you to keep the battery working the maximum time because of the ultra capacity of the battery which can save more power and utilize the power more efficiently. It has managed to perform so well with the help of Intel and LED displays which generates solid state hard drives. It helps to save lot of money.

Dell’s inspirational Inspiron mini 9- What now?

Dell has been very particular about the successful launch of its Inspiron mini 9 series of laptops, providing an initial boost in sales by reducing the introductory price of just $99 with the purchase of a studio 15, XPS M1530 or XPS M1330. Though the offer lasted for a limited period only but gave a lot of brand recognition to the laptop and the company seems to be confident about the long term success of its product.

Now, since the introductory buzz is over it will be interesting to see whether this model would actually work for dell and would it help the company to generate a good return on investments!

Moving on from our previous post about the cheap laptop called the Inspiron 13, we have another notebook from Dell called the Precision M2400.   Unfortunately this one is not in the same price bracket; however it has a higher spec so you do get alot more for your money.   This new powerful portable notebook features Intel Corm 2 Duo Processors, up to 8GB RAM, up to 320GB Hard Drive, advanced Open GL graphics capabilities, and with all this its claimed to be the lightest laptop in the Dell Precision range at less then 5lbs.

Dell have launched their newest range of Laptops called the Dell Inspiron 13.  This modern and sleek looking laptop computer features a Pacific Blue exterior with piano black accents. Hardware wise its pretty good too with 2GB RAM, Intel Pentium Dual Core Processors, and Intel X3100 integrated graphics card and comes with a Genuine Windows Vista® operating system.

If you see the state of my laptop you will understand the need for gadgets like this. Henry the hoover is a small battery powered vacuum targeting the computer keyboard cleaning niche.  Henry is able to pick up all the small crumbs and rubbish that gets in between the keyboards. Once he is full just unscrew Henry’s hat and empty the rubbish into the bin. You will be surprised how much Henry the hoover can pick up. Cleaning a keyboard was one of them boring mundane tasks but it’s far more exciting with this latest gadget.
