What if I told you that there is a laptop that weighs only 1.1kg and is only 16mm thick, comes with a 13.3” widescreen HD LED backlit display and is equipped with an 8 cell battery that can give you about 8 hours of usage? Would you believe me?
If we had a bet, I would have won because Toshiba has just came out with their Protégé z830 Ultrabook. Don’t judge a computer by its size (or a book, or a notebook). Toshiba Protégé Z830 comes with a VGA (Video Graphics Array) connector, SD card reader, Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, and HDMI built in. Also, for those who need to type in the dark, it comes with a backlit and spill resistant keyboard, a pretty useful feature for creatures of the night to get jiggy with it.
Its magnesium and aluminum alloy shell makes it durable which is also a feature that most mobile users need. If you are wondering (of course many of you would), the ultrabook’s operating system is Windows® 7 Home Premium or Professional, and buyers may choose which processors that suit their needs or budget (2nd gen Intel® Core™ i3, i5 or i7 processors).
The ultrabook can store up to 6GB of memory and comes with 128 GB Solid State Drive (nice). It is the lightest so far that I know of and its size does not reflect its capability. Toshiba Protégé Z830 would make your life lighter if not easier. Now we don’t have to lug our big and heavy laptop around anymore!
Now with a wide array of 3D gadgets such as 3D HD televisions, cameras, tablets, and notebooks available on the market, LG has also come out with a new 3D product – the LG A530 notebook. Boasting a full, exclusive 3D experience for users, the latest premium 3B notebook computer by LG electronics sports a 3D dual webcam, which enables you to capture 3D still images and videos with your notebook at anytime, anywhere.
With the LG A530 notebook, you can see, shoot and share high clarity 3D pictures and videos. They can be uploaded onto YouTube using the LG 3D Space Software. The LG integrated interface of the LG A530 also simplifies access of your 3D content. Besides, the contents can also be viewed on other LG devices that are 3D-enabled, including 3D HD TVs, monitors and smartphones.
The specifications of the LG A530 notebook include a 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor, integrated SSD, 8GB RAM, hard drive of high capacity, GeForce GT 555M graphics card and USB 3.0. For stronger security, fingerprint technology for access is also incorporated.
The LG A530 notebook features an exquisite and modern exterior in a classy Ebony Black notebook case. The solid brushed aluminium finish results in a metallic look and the edges of the notebook touchpad are rounded with real diamonds as a cutting element. Designed to be more ergonomic, the touchpad on the LG A530 is wider, and it also features a pebble keyboard for more comfortable use. Each notebook comes with a pair of lightweight 3D glasses together with clip-ons.
Smart Fish has come up with a new idea that is pretty smart since no one likes to use the track pad on the keyboard. Most of us prefer to use a mouse when we browse the web on our laptops but we can’t navigate through our computer if our mouse is on a smooth surface and sometimes we tend to forget to bring our mouse when we travel.
So, Smart Fish invented a portable mouse bag that can also be used as a mouse pad. It is a mouse bag that can be transformed into a mouse pad in just a second. It also protects your mouse when it is in your bag and it saves a lot of luggage space.
The Mouse Pad Travel Pouch only comes in one colour which is black. To transform the mouse bag into a mouse pad, simply unzip the bag and you have a mouse pad in front of you. it isn’t an ideal mouse pad for gamers since it has zippers around it and you might not feel comfortable while playing game with it. When the mouse bag is unzipped, it becomes a 9 inch diameter mouse pad. It is made out of neoprene material so the mouse pad is smooth but the sides can be a little irritating.
When you are done using the mouse and the pad, simply place the mouse in the middle of the pad and zip it up. You now have a bag for a mouse! Simple isn’t it? The retail price for the mouse pad travel pouch is at $15.
If I said to you auto-stereoscopic display technology would you know what I was talking about? If not here is a basic explanation; auto-stereoscopy is a process by which stereoscopic images can be made to look 3D without the need to wear 3D glasses or similar viewing devices.
Now the next question is where can you find this technology? Well you can find it in Toshiba’s latest notebook called the Toshiba Qosmio F755. That’s correct; you will be able to view both 2D and 3D movies and images directly on the display screen without having to look silly whilst wearing those chunky glasses. The images are shown on a 15.6-inch screen that utilizes double parallax image display technology. The Toshiba Qosmio F755 features a resolution of 1920 x 1080 in 2D mode, and 1366 x 768 in 3D mode.
The double parallax image display sends two sets of images at the same time splitting it between the left and the right eye. Along with this an advanced webcam detection system determines the user’s position and auto-tunes the image display for the best performance based on the angle and distance of the user to the screen. By displaying both 2D and 3D images, users can watch videos or play games in 3D whilst switching to 2D to surf the internet or do work.
The Toshiba Qosmio F755 features some powerful hardware; this includes 2.0-GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM processor, 6GB RAM expandable to 8GB, Nvidia GeForce GT540M/1GB graphics card, Blue-ray rewritable optical drive, and a 5,400-rpm 750GB hard drive.
For those into gaming, 2011 must be an exciting year for you. After all, with the advancements in technology, the whole gaming experience has taken a turn for the better with faster processing times and crystal clear graphics. So when Asus announced that they will be coming out with a new gaming laptop, the whole world waited with baited breath. Anticipation was high and rightly so for I can now tell you that the Asus G74SX is practically the bee’s knees when it comes to gaming laptops.
The Asus G74SX boasts a quad-core Intel Core i7 Processor which basically means that reaction and processing time is revolutionarily fast. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics GPU ensures that graphics and images are virtually life like. You’ll feel as if you are in the game itself. And the GeForce GTX 560M GPU comes with 3 GB of GDDR5 memory. Incredible!
Not only that, you can opt for 3D display on this laptop as well. How’s that for an out of the world experience?
One main feature that gamers can look forward to is the laptop’s cooling technology. I don’t know how many times I have heard complaints from gamers that their laptops go bust earlier than they should just because of internal heating. Well, you definitely don’t have to worry about heat with the Asus G74SX because its cooling technology ensures that hot air is released from the rear of the laptop which alleviates potential damage due to overheating.
The Core i7 CPU and the GeForce GTX 560M GPU really do generate a lot of heat, so Asus really comes through with this innovative cooling technology to finally solve the heat problem so common with gaming laptops.
One thing that is really cool about the Asus G74SX is its overall classy finish, definitely better looking than most of the other gaming laptops. All in all, the Asus G74SX is set to blow past the competition.
And best of all, Asus packs all of this incredible gaming horsepower into the Asus G74SX for a screaming low price!
