OCZ Slate ExpressCard

OCZ Slate express card is a wonderful way out for laptop owners who are always looking for additional storage space, OCZ slate express card is available in capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB which are big enough for storing valuable files while using the always unoccupied ExpressCard 34 slot. OCZ Slate express card is similar to other flash or pen drives but it’s placed in an Expresscard. The performance of this card is very decent with 30MB/S and up to 15 to 17 MB/S writing speed.

The card is not equipped with the PCI Express interface therefore USB 2.0 will always continue to be the bandwidth bottleneck for it. This card is particularly useful to store music, pictures and photos. Asus New Eee PC 1002H

Surprise surprise, Asus have another new laptop out and its called the Asus Eee PC 1002H. Offering up to 5 hours battery of life combined with an Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3-in-1 card reader and a 1.3 megapixel camera the Eee PC 1002H is a step up from previous Eee versions such as the Eee PC 1002HA. Other than that it will have the same 10″ LED display screen with 1024×600.

No release date has been published but I would expect the Asus PC to available in the coming months with a price tag of around $450.

Logitec LAN-WG/RA Pocket Wi-Fi Router

Measuring just 62mm x 82mm x 19mm Logitec’s new Wi-Fi router is possibly one of the smallest routers in the world.  Ideal for frequent travelers requiring internet access, the Logitec LAN-WG/RA pocket Wi-Fi Router weigh in at just 55 grams. Not much information is available (unable to translate from Japanese) however we do know that the pocket Wi-Fi router will offer encryption such as WPA2(AES), WPA(TKIP) and WEP128/64 bit.

Microsoft Laptop Cooling Pad

I have a Toshiba laptop, which I think is great except it can get pretty hot after a couple of hours of continuous usage. For this reason I am particularly interested in any gadgets that aim to reduce or prevent the heat build up. Microsoft have released a new piece of hardware to solve this problem, its called the Microsoft Laptop Cooling Pad. This gadget is Microsoft’s first Notebook cooling device product and to be fair isn’t anything special.

Microsoft’s Laptop Cooling Pad is basically an inch thick stand which plugs into the Laptop via a USB port; this provides power to a fan than ensures that heat is dissipated.

The Microsoft Laptop Cooling Pad will be available in Black or White.
