Tigra Bike mount

Are you an iPhone user who would like to have your gadget staying intact, but at the same time an adventurous traveler? If you fear that bringing along your iPhone while going for a mountain climb or hike on a bike might break it, then the Tigra Bike Mount is what you must look for.

Tigra Bike mount is a protective hard case that keeps your iPhone safe, clean and dry at all times, in all environments.  It is made of silicon lining, thus wrapping it over your iPhone ensures that your gadget is free from bumps and scratches. Other than that, it has a weatherproof housing, keeping your valuable gadget out of rain and mud.

Although this casing wraps your iPhone tightly, it still allows you to use all your sensitive touch-screen functions and plug your earphone into the jack. The most important tool a traveler must make use of while going for an adventure is the GPS Navigator to look for locations and log paths. A cyclist can secure his iPhone on the bike handlebar or the stem using the adjustable Universal Bracket, making it compatible with bars of different sizes. Therefore, he can ride with all his joy without the fear of getting lost in the woods.

After the biker comes to an end of his ride, the Quick Release system unlocks the iPhone from the handlebars, where you clipped your iPhone earlier. This protective cover also makes it perfect for slipping the iPhone into backpacks while ensuring its good condition.

YikeBike Fusion Electric Folding Bike

YikeBike Fusion Electric Folding Bike

Folding electric bikes are not new. In fact, YikeBike has introduced them way back in 2009 but the carbon fibre model was a tad expensive at $3,795.

Now they have just added the YikeBike Fusion to their collection, a more affordable folding bike model with a price tag of $1,995.

So how did that become possible, you ask yourself.

Apparently, YikeBike substituted more affordable materials like reinforced polymer composite and alloy for some of the more expensive carbon fibre materials. But you have to pay the price for the cheaper version and that’s more than three kilograms in added weight.

Up to 250 carbon fibre bikes have been sold last year to various customers including celebrities like Jackie Chan.

Now comes the new toy for the big boys out there—a slightly heavier, but cheaper version of the folding bike.  Don’t expect the original carbon fibre folding bikes to go on sale though, because they will be reserved for those who can afford the high-end version which will be sold through the website of YikeBike.  The cheaper version will then be sold by distributors as a standard version.

The carbon fibre folding bike weighs only 10.8 kg while the Fusion version weighs 14 kg. If you want to leave as little carbon footprint as possible but just could not afford the hefty price tag of the original carbon fibre folding bag, then here’s your chance to get the cheaper version.

Well, 3kg is not much of a weight considering the savings you can get from the purchase of the Fusion. Anyway, you can still enjoy its 23 km per hour speed while protecting the environment.

The Hydrocycle

The Hydrocycle is a watercraft that combines a boat with a bicycle. The power is provided by the rider and is as easy as riding a bike. However, the pedaling does not rotate a wheel, instead in rotates a 12” propeller that powers the Hydrocycle forward.

This Hydrocycle allows two riders to pedal at the same time and is suitable for rivers, lakes, and oceans, anywhere with no more than 3’ of swells. Constant cycling can produce a speed up to 6mph which is as fast as canoeing or kayaking, however because you are using your legs instead of your arms you do no tire as easily.

Buoyancy is provided by three polyethylene pontoons that ensure stability and speed is maintained during a ride. Just like a bicycle, handlebars are provided that steer the hydrocycle in whichever direction you want due to being linked to a rudder.

Comfortability is guaranteed with an adjustable seat and the hydrocycle also provides a storage container at the front of the hydrocycle to store a refreshing drink should you need it.  One final bonus, the whole unit can be assembled and disassembled easily without the need for tools. This unit does not come with the life jackets shown in the picture, so make sure you wear one when you use it.

The Hydrocycle is made of high quality materials designed to be long lasting,  easily cleaned, and transported. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side at $3,600 for the tandem version, there is also a single rider version for $1900.

Rope Climbing for People with Fear of Heights - MtEverClimb

There are a few different exercises with a rope you can do for example you can skip with it like
Sylvester Stallone on Rocky or climb it. The last time I climbed a rope was probably in school, I remember it being a lot of hard work and I struggling to make the top (it was not very long or high). However, I did feel a sense of achievement after making it. For some people the thought of this would be impossible because they suffer from Acrophobia – a fear of heights.

Today’s sports gadget called the MtEverClimb is the ultimate rope climbing workout. It features a rope attached to a pulley wheel that loops around to provide a never ending rope to climb. The advantage with this is that no matter how much you climb you are never more than a few feet from the ground.

Climbing a rope is a compound exercise that provides a good workout for a large number of muscles in the body.  It is a great addition to your cardio workout as it will definitively get your heart pounding.  The MtEverClimb has some impressive current users specifically the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers use and endorse it.

Now the downside, unless you run a gym or have a bit of money to burn and the room to position this large piece of gym equipment then it is going to set you back just under $8k.
