The Backpack Umbrella
June 21, 2011 by Sharon
There is one universal consensus with regards to umbrellas. A majority of people are reluctant to carry umbrellas around, let along use one come rain or shine. Umbrellas more often than not encumber more than assist as they are usually an extra piece of gear that has to be negotiated in less than forgiving situations. A majority of people out there will have managed to leave an umbrella or two behind somehow somewhere at least once in their life as it is a very common occurrence.
One of the reasons why a majority of people hate carrying around umbrellas especially when a promisingly cloudy day turned out to be sunny after all thereby giving all the more reason to forget umbrellas hanging on a ledge somewhere. Besides, holding an umbrella can get terribly inconvenient when carrying books or bags of groceries as it is quite common to get either both the person and the goods wet or either one.
The backpack umbrella was designed for this particular set of people. As the name so obviously spells out, the backpack umbrella is exactly just that! An umbrella that is actually worn at the back just like a backpack. All one has to do is to unzip the pack, deploy the umbrella and make sure that the pack is secure.
Not only does it eliminate the risk of losing one’s umbrella either due to forgetfulness or an extra windy storm but it also leaves your hands free to carry that heavy bag of groceries or that load of textbooks. The only downside of the backpack umbrella, besides looking decidedly dorky, is that that bag of groceries might just still get wet!
