Have you ever seen a Gecko scale the side of a wall? They seem to have these sticky feet that can grab onto just about any surface. Here’s a simple gadget that works kind of like the Gecko’s sticky feet called the Grippy Pad.
The Grippy Pad is made with an advanced silicone material that can grip just about anything. This amazing material performs its sticky magic without magnets, velcro or messy adhesives. So when you’re done using the Grippy Pad to afix something in place, there’s no sticky or gummy glues or adhesive residue left behind. It’s really amazing actually!
While the Grippy Pad can grab hold all kinds of different objects and affix them to a surface, the most popular usage is to temporarily attach your iPhone, Smartphone or GPS navigator to the dashboard or other suitable surface in your car. Simply stick the Grippy Pad on your car’s dashboard and then place your device that you want to attach on top of the Grippy Pad and they’ll be held securely in place. And when you’re ready to detach your device, just pull it off the Grippy Pad with ease and you’re ready to go. No sticky or gummy residue ever left behind. Very smart!
The Grippy Pad is available in four different colours; Grey, Black, Clear and Red. The Grippy Pad is impervious to water, high temperatures and sunlight and it will work virtually anywhere. The pad never needs replenishing of any kind, and when the stickiness begins to fade, simply wipe the Grippy Pad with a damp cloth and the sticky grabbing power is good as new.
Grippy Pad Product Features:
- Anti-slip pad for iPhones, iPads, Smartphones, GPS navigators, and all sorts of other gadgets.
- Works great on a horizontal as well as a vertical surface.
- Resistant to water, high temperatures and sunlight.
- Simple and convenient to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth.
- Made of an advanced high quality and durable silicone material.
As technology advances, some of the most useful innovations to come along are actually really simple. Maybe a little bit of magic, but simple nonetheless. How many times have you tried to find an easy way to prop up your iPhone or Smartphone against the dashboard of your car? Now the problem is solved. You’ll be amazed at just how well the Grippy Pad works, and it’s really inexpensive too!

There are all sorts of GPS enabled devices out there. And more and more, you’ll find great GPS capabilities built into the everyday devices we like to use such as smartphones and ipads. In particular, one type of GPS device that’s really handy is a GPS enabled homing device that makes it easy to find your way back to an existing location. One of the typical uses for these GPS homing devices is to find your way back to your car that you left in a parking lot.
How many times do you return to a public parking lot and can’t remember where you left your car? Wouldn’t it be great if you could just “push a button” and automatically be guided back to your car, exactly where you left it hours earlier? Well, that’s exactly how the Backtrack GPS Homing Device from Hammacher Schlemmer works.
GPS Homing Device technology continues to improve and this newest version of the GPS Homing Device from Hammacher Schlemmer is the simplest and easiest portable GPS locating device you’ll find anywhere.
The Backtrack GPS Homing Device is perfect for tacking down your car after shopping or finding your way back to your hotel after a full day of touring in an unfamiliar city. To identify the location you want to find your way back to, just push the button to mark your current location and the device will guide the way back when you’re ready to return.
The Backtrack GPS device is super small and compact, more than half the size of a normal cell phone. The lightweight portable device attaches easily to your keychain or you can just carry it in your pocket or in your purse without taking up any room at all.
Different than other GPS devices that can be much more complicated to operate, the Backtrack GPS Homing Device is as simple as it gets. This GPS device only has two buttons, one switching the compass mode, and the other button for registering up to three starting locations.
The Backtrack GPS Homing Device employs a GPS receiver chipset that enables a precise degree of accuracy and is able to pinpoint your starting location to within five yards. It works equally well in urban canyons or even heavily forested areas thanks to the superior “time to first fix” capability for locating and locking onto the GPS satellite signals.
Once you start approaching your starting location, it begins to display the distance in miles, kilometers, meters or yards. And the self-calibrating digital compass will display your heading in degrees indicating the direction you want to go with an easy-to-read pointing arrow.
A backlight button illuminates the display for easy viewing in low light conditions or at night. The device can also remember your waypoints when powered off so you don’t have to worry about losing your settings. And not to worry about the outside elements, the Backtrack GPS Homing Device is waterproof as well.
The Backtrack GPS Homing Device requires two AAA batteries. It’s 3 1/4 inches in length, 2 inches in width, 3/4 inches deep and weighs only 2 ounces. Never lose track of your car again and always find your way back easily with the convenient Backtrack GPS Homing Device.

The Kindle Fire Is On Fire

It would be almost impossible to have escaped the hype and buzz around the new Amazon Kindle Fire this season. And the buzz is not just about the great price of $199, which is half the price of an Apple iPad. It really looks like Amazon has hit a home run with the Kindle Fire. Maybe you just need to get one to find out what the fuss is all about!
Kindle Fire is Great For Travelling
If you’re on the go and do a lot of travelling, whether taking an extended trip or maybe just that long commute to work every day, the Kindle Fire will definitely keep you entertained and engaged. And the Kindle Fire is much more convenient to carry with you than a laptop, notebook or larger tablet device like the Galaxy Tab. The Fire has a larger sized screen and that means that viewing movies is a vastly better experience than with a regular smartphone.
And many people are saying that the Kindle Fire has a more convenient and easier to hold form factor than the 10 inch iPad.
Kindle Fire is Powered By Android
Did you know that the OS underneath the Kindle Fire is Android? What a powerful move Amazon has made building the Kindle Fire on top of the Android OS. Now mind you, some reviews out there have complained that even though the Kindle Fire runs on Android, you don’t have access to the Android Marketplace. But think about it, this actually makes sense. The Kindle Fire doesn’t have many of the hardware functions typically found on Android devices such as a GPS, accelerometer, camera, etc., so it really would be useless to download many of the Android apps that depend on these device functions.
Instead, what Amazon offers is the Kindle Store which provides many of the most popular apps that everyone is interested in such as Angry Birds, Plants vs. Zombies, Netflix, ESPN, Accuweather, and so on. And Amazon assures that apps from the Kindle Store will run on the Kindle Fire. The apps in the Kindle Store have been thoroughly tested and optimized to function perfectly on the Kindle Fire, so you have nothing to worry about when you download or purchase these apps.
Running on Android, the Kindle Fire can multitask which means you can do things simultaneously like listen to music while browsing the Internet, reading a book or playing a game.
Amazon Prime Is All About Content
And have you heard about Amazon Prime? For a very affordable $79 a year subscription, you get unlimited access to over 100,000 movies and TV shows on demand at any time. A one time annual service fee, no further monthly payments to make. You can watch these movies anytime you want, on demand, directly from the Amazon Cloud.
The Kindle Fire uses a fast wifi connection to stream movies and music directly to your device. This is a key focus for Amazon to manage and deliver all of this great content from the Amazon Cloud. The idea is to make it easy and seamless to access the content and media you want without having to think about it. It’s not so much about the device, it’s all about the content!
For example, say you’re watching a movie and you your wifi connection gets interrupted. The Kindle Fire is smart enough to know where you left off and can resume the movie at a later time from the same point. We think Amazon Prime will revolutionize the way users seamlessly access digital content.
The Kindle Fire is A Tablet Too
Keep in mind, as we mentioned, the Kindle Fire is more about the content than the device. Again, the primary function of the Kindle Fire is to serve as a media consumption device and give you easy, seamless access to the huge media library licensed by Amazon.
But don’t lose sight of the fact that the Kindle Fire is a pretty smart and capable tablet device too! As we mentioned, not only does the Android operating system allow you to download all kinds of apps including utilities, games, tools, office products, and more. You can also send and receive email, maybe check a presentation you have to make, or compose quick reports. You can do all of this on your Kindle Fire!
And how about Kindle Silk, the highly optimized browser that Amazon has designed for the Kindle Fire? The revolutionary Kindle Silk browser harnesses the full power of the Amazon Cloud to make your browsing experience blazing fast. And with a Kindle Fire device, you have free access to Amazon Cloud Storage to upload and store all of your media and then access it from anywhere. Very nice!
It looks like the Kindle Fire has really revolutionized handheld tablets and is clearly giving competitors a run for their money. But don’t wait for the competition to try and catch up, just get a Kindle Fire today!
