Since the invention of the modern bicycle, numerous safety precautions for cyclists had been patented, invented and marketed to the people. There are safety helmets designed to reduced crash impacts, reflective vests and/or other similar clothing to increase night visibility, not to mention the vast array of dubious protective gear which is supposed to protect you from harm.
However, the majority of them are either overpriced, under quality or just plain useless in personal protection. With the Clip-on Bike LED Lights, there is now a simple and cost-effective way to reduce the odds of an untoward accident happening to you.
Priced at just $13 for a set of two Clip-on Bike LED Lights in red and white respectively, the device can be clipped onto almost any part of your trusty old bike. Cables, bars and even maybe the spokes of your back tire; you name it, they got it covered. With two of them, you can have one attached on the front and back of your bike; ensuring that you are visible to vehicles from both directions.
Unlike reflectors too, they will work just fine even though some cars may not have their headlights on. No longer will you have to depend also on the presence of lampposts. At the extremely affordable price they are retailing at, you can even get another set for the sides of your bike; ensuring that you are covered from all directions.

Sometimes it is just too troublesome to drive your car to places that are very near, and yet not within walking distance. So what can you do to find a balance? Get a Parisian Pedestrian Pedalar! It is a fast way to get around from place to place, and friendly to the environment as well, as it does not require any petrol or electricity to work.
The Parisian Pedestrian Pedalar, a product from Hammacher Schlemmer features a gearless pedaling system, able to propel the rider up to 24 miles per hour (230lbs or below). In order to improve the efficiency of pedaling, the system incorporated independent cranks as well as variable lever arms, so that the up and down motion is minimized. With the mechanical setup of the Parisian Pedestrian Pedaler, most of the work is done with the help of the rider’s body weight, hence reducing fatigue, as less strength is needed. It provides smoother and safer cornering too, with its responsive turning by its 32 1/4 inch wheelbase.
Another advantage is that it is foldable and compact, as its steering column could be folded and attached to the Pedalar’s frame. It is also light, weighing 23 and 3 quarters lbs., hence great for storage and transport.

Bicycle Spoke LED Light

It is not safe to ride a bike after dusk because the chances of you getting into an accident is higher and the oncoming vehicles won’t be able to see you if you do not have any reflectors. Well, reflectors might not help as much because reflectors only reflect when the light is shone upon your bike or your safety vest. You might get hit by a car by the time the driver sees you on the road. Reflectors are just not that safe, so that is why there is a device which will make you more visible on the road and it is called the bicycle spoke LED light. This device definitely makes biking at night safer.
The Bicycle Spoke LED Light basically just slips into your bicycle spoke and it can be turned on with just a tiny squeeze. There are two modes to choose from that is the steady mode that doesn’t flash and then the flashy mode that flashes. As you cycle through the night, your wheels will be covered by flashing lights or steady lights and it alerts other oncoming drivers that you are near. You can choose from two different colors that is amber and blue. It is very easy to install, it is weather and shock resistant and fits perfectly into any bicycle spoke. The LED light uses a 2 x 2016 3V Lithium battery.
This cycling gadget is only sold in a single unit so you’ll have to buy two if you want it for both wheels. Retail price is about $7.99 each. This is an awesome safety device that allows you to look like those bikers in Tron the movie!

The Verbal Bicycle Bell

Ever had to avoid pedestrians and motorists who can never seem to notice you on your bicycle even after you’ve rang your little bell to alert them to your presence? It can be quite frustrating to have to suddenly brake to allow them to cross even though it should be your right of way. This is quite a sad scenario as bicycling is healthy both for you and the environment and should be advocated instead of being discouraged.
Well, here comes the Verbal Bicycle Bell which aims to solve just that. It is basically a bicycle speaker which plays sounds loud enough for people not to notice you. It can go up to 80 decibels, which is about as loud as the sound a vacuum cleaner makes. This means it can be heard over the usual ambient noises.
The Verbal Bicycle Bell comes with a clamp which you can use to mount on your bicycle’s handlebars. It plays a default warning which says ‘on your left’ when you press a button. Alternatively, you can choose to be creative and go wild and record your own warning. This simple device allows you to record up to 20 seconds of warnings. If you prefer the traditional bell sound, the Verbal Bicycle Bell also has that.
This cycling gadget is priced at an affordable US$25 and is easy to use. You just need to make an additional investment for 3 LR44 batteries and you are good to go.

YikeBike Fusion Electric Folding Bike

Folding electric bikes are not new. In fact, YikeBike has introduced them way back in 2009 but the carbon fibre model was a tad expensive at $3,795.
Now they have just added the YikeBike Fusion to their collection, a more affordable folding bike model with a price tag of $1,995.
So how did that become possible, you ask yourself.
Apparently, YikeBike substituted more affordable materials like reinforced polymer composite and alloy for some of the more expensive carbon fibre materials. But you have to pay the price for the cheaper version and that’s more than three kilograms in added weight.
Up to 250 carbon fibre bikes have been sold last year to various customers including celebrities like Jackie Chan.
Now comes the new toy for the big boys out there—a slightly heavier, but cheaper version of the folding bike. Don’t expect the original carbon fibre folding bikes to go on sale though, because they will be reserved for those who can afford the high-end version which will be sold through the website of YikeBike. The cheaper version will then be sold by distributors as a standard version.
The carbon fibre folding bike weighs only 10.8 kg while the Fusion version weighs 14 kg. If you want to leave as little carbon footprint as possible but just could not afford the hefty price tag of the original carbon fibre folding bag, then here’s your chance to get the cheaper version.
Well, 3kg is not much of a weight considering the savings you can get from the purchase of the Fusion. Anyway, you can still enjoy its 23 km per hour speed while protecting the environment.
