Dock Fan For The iPhone

The Japanese, they make such weird devices that we thought was useless at first but somehow, it can be put to a good use if we want it to. The iPhone Dock Fan was recently introduced in Japan Trust Technology website. The dock fan keeps you cool while you are having a conversation or if you’re having a “heated” argument. It will always keep you cool regardless how hot the conversation is. Also, it is a good way to drain up all that battery hours since the iPhone’s battery can last for a significant amount of time.

The iPhone dock fan can be placed horizontally or bent to a 90 degree angle. It has two twin fan blades that are made out from soft urethane plastic and it propels at 4,000 RPM so you might want to keep it far from your chin or you might accidentally cut it. The iPhone dock fan can run up to 6 hours with a completely charged iPhone and it is compatible with the iPhone 3, 3GS and 4.

It also works with the iPod Touch from the first to the last generation. It weighs about 17 grams and measures about 3.3” in length, 1.15” in length 0.5” in height. The total price for the dock fan is set at 1,260 Yen which roughly sums up to $15.25. The dock fan can only be purchased at the Japan Trust Technology online shop.

So what are you waiting for, go get the dock fan and keep yourself cooled down at all times.

iPhoneography with Red Pop iPhone Shutter Button

The iPhone is a truly great mobile phone; we have featured it many times here at MintGadgets along with the range of accessories that can go with it. Today we bring to you another great gadget called the Red Pop iPhone Shutter Button. This gadget if for people interested in iPhoneography, photography using your iPhone.

This iPhone gadget aims to solve the small but apparent problem with the iPhone and many other mobile devices that is taking a picture. Along with the design and aesthetics of the phone, the designers of the iPhone made it look too nice, this resulted in having to touch the screen to take a picture rather than a traditional button on the top of the camera. Now this might sound like a better solution altogether but we disagree, for example if you were wanting to take a picture of yourself then it would be rather difficult aiming the camera and touching the screen whilst not knowing exactly where to press. Also, from is a personal point of view if I have been drinking alcohol and my fine motor skills are not at their usual high levels then touching the screen at the right place is difficult.

This is where the Red Pop iPhone Camera Button comes in handy. Not only does it supply a nice button that is connected to the iPhone, it also adds a camera grip making it easier to hold and less likely that you will drop in when trying to take a picture. This idea is currently a concept and is looking for funding at Kickstarter but we are sure it will reach its goals and be available soon.

iPhone 4 – What Makes It Different?

Apple Inc. last June 7, 2010 almost a year from now, unveiled another smartphone the iPhone 4 at the 2010 WWDC Conference. This is the fourth to the iPhone series, and as a smartphone addict, it makes us wonder what makes the iPhone 4 different from the previous models of phones.

The iPhone 4 is different because of the new design, if you will take the time to notice the difference then you will realize that it is really special compared to the other models. The fourth series is feels robust as it has a stainless steel built around the phone to ensure its strength.

In addition, the stainless steel it also serves as antennas for the UMTS, GSM, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. You can call this design as simply brilliant engineering, when you consider the fact of how an antenna also serves as phone protection. However, these are not the only thing that makes the phone a better model.

Compared to previously launched models the iPhone 4 is designed to be a bit thinner, consider this is one of the thinnest smartphone phones available, as the phone is built to only 9.3mm thickness. Moreover, when it comes to resolution the iPhone this time was built with “Retinal display” pixels, which means the pixels was 4 times better so expect to see sharp text and images. The display rated at 326ppi and according to Apple, this is beyond the limit of the human eyes distinction, which is about 330ppi only.

In case you are wondering about the display size, it is still the same size 3.5 inch. Now, when it comes to the battery the iPhone 4 this time has a bigger size and this is possible because the customized chip is smaller to accommodate the new battery size. So, expect longer talk time, browsing with a 300 hour standby time.

The camera been bumped to a higher megapixel, so now the iPhone 4 can record on HD video for 70p/30fps. Last but not the least, what lacks previously in the older models now integrated to this model, the feature of multitasking. Apple also added another feature known only as the “Face Time”, an advance video chat calling. These are all the changes made in the iPhone 4.
