Hammacher Schlemmer has loads of gadgets coming out lately that catch my eye; take today’s Timelapse Garden Video Camera for example. Have you ever watched a gardening program on TV where a barren garden with no plants or grass has been filmed after seeds have been sown then replayed in fast forward, you can see the plants growing in real-time.  The Timelapse Garden Video Camera is able to focus as close up as 20″ away or give a wider 54″ view.

How does the Timelapse video work?

The Garden Video Camera works by taking a picture at predetermined time periods ranging from one every 5 seconds to every 24 hours. The pictures are then converted into a single 1280 x 1024 AVI movie for playback and viewing on a computer. The AVI garden video is removed from the Timelapse device via a 2GB USB flash drive  (capacity 18,000 pictures).

The Timelapse Garden Video Camera is powered by four AA batteries which are not included and provide enough power for four months of continuous usage.
