Xbox Wireless 7.1 Turtle Beach XP500 Headset

I have owned 2 sets of Turtle Beach headsets with my Xbox 360, both of these were the standard Turtle Beach X360 Earforce XLC. These basic headsets from Turtle Beach are head and shoulders above the default ones which are supplied by Microsoft with the console. There are various others available and Turtle Beach may have just taking wireless gaming headsets to a new level with their Xbox specific Turtle Beach XP500 headset.

Previously, Turtle Beach had provided a PS3 version of the headphones called the PX5 which has had good reviews from within gaming industry.  The Turtle Beach XP500 Wireless Headset is essentially the PX5 renamed with a similar design and with Dolby virtual 7.1 compatible.  The headset has been Xbox pimped out with a green trim and rechargeable Bluetooth Chat Adapter. This adapter plugs directly into the Xbox controller to allow chatting functions from the wireless headset.

Priced at $260 (and under) and available this fall it’s difficult to advertise this headset as a must have for gamers due to the price being similar to a new Xbox console. With cheaper headsets available with slightly less functionality I don’t think I will be buying one, however for the big gamers out there who must have the latest gaming gadgets then this is definitely something you will want. Also with the arrival of Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 2 and other great games it could be an expensive few months for the gaming community.

Xbox 360 Arcade Station

Mintgagdets can quietly but confidently disclose that the Xbox 360 arcade station T2 is currently in development and being tested for future release. Not too sure how much different the arcade Xbox will be to the normal household version other than being housed in an arcade cabinet. Nevertheless the Xbox 360 Arcade will feature two controllers and will contain preinstalled Xbox games such as Fifa 08, Assassins Creed, or even Halo 3.  The arcade station will also allow memory cards to be slotted in and possibly even allow local link gaming.

Who is going to pay to play on an Xbox arcade rather than play on their own Xbox or go and play on a friends Xbox? Well my thoughts are that there are probably quite a few people out there who would rather play on the arcade game before going out and buying the game.

Payment wont be in the form of per game, more likely time based so make sure you have a good supply of quarters if your into your gaming!
